This 2001 Toyota Highlander has been my reliable daily driver for almost two years and just hit the big milestone: 500,000 km. Yep, half a million—and it’s still running strong. That’s Toyota quality for you. The Good: V6 engine with 4WD – handles great in all seasons Starts and runs every single day without fail Sunroof works, A/C blows cold Spacious trunk/cargo area Rear brakes were done last summer Engine’s in good shape and has never let me down Stuff to Know (hence the price): Rear struts need replacing Front CV joints need some attention Rear passenger windows (on both sides) don’t work There’s a cosmetic dent on the front passenger-side bumper This SUV still has plenty of life left for someone who’s handy or wants a solid beater with potential. Whether you need a winter vehicle, a workhorse, or just something to get from A to B, it’ll get the job done.
