Based on the CE-1 but in a compact design, the CE-2 delivers smooth modulation and low-noise switching – perfect for ambient textures, shimmering cleans, and classic '80s vibes Boss Distortion DS-1 Black Label Japan - $299 Made in May of 1984, this Boss DS-1 made in Japan sounds great! This Boss DS-1 is an early black label version made in Japan, known for its slightly warmer tone and smoother response compared to later versions. It delivers aggressive, mid-scooped distortion with plenty of bite and clarity, making it ideal for everything from classic rock riffs to '90s grunge and modern punk. With simple controls for Tone, Level, and Distortion, it’s easy to dial in a range of sounds — from subtle drive to full-on saturation Both units have been tested and work great.
