Is taking time for yourself and more self-care on your list next Year? I teach a weekly Community Therapeutic Yoga Class at Christ Church Cathedral. and we have recently moved downstairs into the Library. It’s on Tuesdays from 6:00 to 7:30 pm The winter semester runs January 13- March 24th , 2026 (11 weeks) More on that below. The class is a registered semester (not drop in) BUT FIRST ANSWERS TO FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS 🧘🏻‍♀️ You do not need Yoga experience, flexibility, strength or fancy Yoga pants to attend. However, you do need to be able to get up & down from the floor on your own ( even if it’s not graceful ) and we do spend time on our hands and knees. 🧘🏻‍♀️ Also worth noting is that this is a gentle Therapeutic class not ‘workout style’ yoga. (we rarely even stand) So if you are looking for a hot and sweaty, boot camp style of Yoga this class is not for you. 🧘🏻‍♀️ If however, you are looking for rest, nervous system nourishment, better sleep, and relief from Persistent Pain and Anxiety then this could be a fit for you. 🧘🏻‍♀️ The class is Trauma-informed and offered on a sliding scale 🧘🏻‍♀️ This Class is in person and on Zoom You can save your spot via the link Ok, official class description: In this registered series, we focus on Nourishing our Nervous system and Back Pain relief. We start with a grounding and centring. Then slow flow through gentle therapeutic movements for joint mobility, flexibility and strength (including the core). Then we move back into stillness & long holds of Yin Yoga. And finally, we finish this class with a Yoga Nidra practice. Yoga Nidra, sometimes called Yogic sleep, is a highly beneficial guided relaxation. Where I will take you through a body scan. This draws your attention inward, putting you into a state of consciousness that sits on the border between waking and sleeping. *Equipment needed: Yoga mat and a blanket* This class is a Hybrid Class. Meaning it is in person and Zoom at the same time. This means you get the Zoom link to and the recording for 7 Days Even if you sign up for the in person class. That way if you are running late or not feeling well you can still join us from home.
