Perennial. Dense, erect, tall spikes with bright violet blue flowers, make Veronica a great addition to the garden. Blooms early to late summer in 2-3 feet tall clumps, and spreads about 1 -2 feet across. Requires average soil, easy on water, low care and is fairly pest and disease free. Attracts hummingbirds and bees, but is resistant to rabbits and deer. Cut back after first bloom to encourage second bloom well into the fall. Lift and divide every 3rd year. May require staking if grown in less than full sun or if soil is overly moist. Choose a sunny site with rich, well-draining soil. Veronica can tolerate a range of soil conditions and is drought-tolerant once established. Deadhead spent flowers by cutting them off at their base after they bloom. This will encourage the plant to continue producing more flowers. fertile. Several plants, Pick-up Gorge/Admirals area, 1 min from Craigflower school. $7 each - 1 gal
