Next, 2025 Michael Measures First Prize winner Justin Saulnier takes center stage in Prokofiev’s Violin Concerto No. 2—a work of shifting moods, flickering between solitude and spectacle, and concluding in a blaze of rhythm and colour. After intermission, Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 10 offers a searing portrait of survival under totalitarianism, where even silence carries weight.
