Designed by Jan-Erik Lindgren in 1977 for Ekornes Fabrikker, Norway, the Party armchair is a standout example of Norwegian postmodern design with bold material contrast and structural honesty. Its architectural frame, built from dark-stained pine, is accented with exposed copper joinery that gives the piece a floating, stacked-plank appearance. The generously tufted cushions are upholstered in thick, cognac-toned leather that has developed a rich patina over time, adding character and warmth to the strong lines of the frame. The low, square form is both sculptural and inviting, bridging rustic Nordic craftsmanship with brutalist modernism. This chair is in excellent vintage condition. The leather has been carefully cleaned and conditioned, and the wood frame has been polished by our team to highlight its natural grain and coloration. A rare and collectible piece that embodies the experimental spirit of late-70s Scandinavian design. Ideal for collectors, designers, and interiors seeking something sculptural, tactile, and historically grounded.
