This practical wagon is the most fuel-efficient AWD wagon Subaru ever produced, and the even better news is the rugged 2 litre engine never developed the head gasket issues inherent in the 2.5 litre engine (more commonly found in Outbacks). Owned by Subaru enthusiasts (we've owned a number of them over the last 30 years), it has just had some fairly major pre-winter maintenance, including: new calipers all around/rear brakes, 02 sensor and biannual transmission servicing. It's a great looking adventure vehicle in West Coast Marine Blue, boasts a more or less mint interior, with just a few scuffs (and no rust) on the body. What's to Like: -the aforementioned fuel economy -Subaru's reputation for safety and reliability -good looking, contemporary styling -everything works the way it should -factory rust proofed back in 2013 -oil just changed What's not to Like: - couple of flaws on the body, small ding in the rear plastic bumper, occasional scratch - a bit of sway bar link rattle when going over especially unfriendly bumps. The car runs like a dream. It's solid, dependable, and flies over the Malahat with ease and aplomb during the winter.
