aprox 21 X 33 1/2" "Brass rubbing was originally a largely British enthusiasm for reproducing onto paper monumental brasses – commemorative brass plaques found in churches, usually originally on the floor, from between the thirteenth and sixteenth centuries. It was particularly popular in Britain because of the large number of medieval brasses surviving there, more than in any other country. The concept of recording textures of things is more generally called making a rubbing. " The rubbing itself is perfect, the black edge of the frame is a little rough around the edges. I always meant to find a way to blacken in the scuffs but never got around to it. Still, it looks nice on the wall and the silver in the frame really compliments the rubbing. The backing has been removed as the wax from the image had transferred to the glass after so many years so I cleaned it up. I'm changing my decor completely so it's time to let this beauty go. Also I need the cash lol.
