Date Posted: October 24, 2025 The Butchart Gardens is looking for an individual to fill the following position: DEPARTMENT: FOOD SERVICES POSITIONS: DINING ROOM SERVER We are looking for a candidate to fill the role of Dining Room server. The Dining Room Restaurant is a fast paced, full service, 120 seat fine dining restaurant. This position reports to The Dining Room Restaurant Supervisors and Managers. The successful candidate will be required to: • provide exceptional service to our visitors in a professional, courteous, and prompt manner • make suggestions of wine pairings to enhance the seasonal entrees we offer • assist in the set-up and clean-up of The Dining Room Restaurant • help create an enjoyable and productive work atmosphere for all staff in the department • be open to change and able to communicate new ideas and developments effectively The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications and demonstrated attributes: • a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a server role in a similar food service establishment • an excellent knowledge of wines and spirits • strong verbal and written communication skills • positive, outgoing attitude with a passion for food • the ability to succeed in a team environment • operate effectively and professionally under frequently changing and stressful circumstances • an understanding of the importance of attention to detail • excellent organizational skills • Serving It Right and Food Safe certificates This is a seasonal position offering between 25-32 hours per week from November 27, 2025 – January 6, 2026, with the potential to return for the 2026 spring/summer season. Shift times will primarily fall between 1pm-10:30pm. Both weekday and weekend availability are required. Starting from $18.98 plus gratuities.
