Anyone who has ever wandered from car lot to car lot in search of the perfect vehicle will appreciate that it can be a time consuming and sometimes frustrating experience.

Choices can be limited, and when it comes to price, bargains can be hard to come by.

Enter Jett Wholesale Public Auto Auction.

Located in Parksville, BC, the company offers a different car buying experience. Vehicles come to Jett from a variety of sources, including a host of Vancouver Island dealerships, private consignment sales and even from folks who have donated their vehicle for sale with the goal of donating the proceeds to charity.

“We get cars from a wealth of sources, and the variety is really extensive,” says Judy Kuiken, Marketing Director for Jett Auction.

“For our customers though, the biggest thing is the price. All sales are done by auction and, depending on who is bidding that day, you can get some fabulous deals.”

Here’s how it works:

There are two ways to bid at the weekly Saturday auction – in person and online. Bidders can view vehicles at the lot at 861 Allsbrook Rd. in Parksville or online at jettauction.com. If they choose to bid online, they can view the vehicles at the Jett auction on liveauctionworld.com.

“People can take a look at the paperwork on the vehicles and confirm their history, and if they’re at the lot they can start them up before bidding,” Kuiken explains.

But perhaps the most exciting new aspect of Jett Wholesale Public Auction is the online component of the business.

By logging onto the jettauction.com website, buyers from across BC and beyond can look at the vehicles up for auction.

“They can look at the vehicles, read their history and place their bids when the auction starts, just as though they were right there with the rest of the bidders,” Kuiken says.

Auctions take place every Saturday between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., with gates at the Parksville lot open at 9:30 a.m. for viewing.

Online bidders can take their time prior to the sale to review the array of vehicles and decide which is perfect for them, before logging on to the auction and joining the bidding.

By the way, Jett Auction doesn’t just offer cars.

“We auction off every sort of vehicle,” Kuiken says. “We’ve sold cars, trucks, motorcycles, RVs, boats, transport trucks…we even had a school bus once.”

Vehicles sold at the lot do come with a limited warranty, but Kuiken stresses that the onus is always on the buyer to know what they’re looking at and make their choices wisely.

“That part is no different from buying your vehicle at any other conventional lot,” she says.

The exciting part of the online sales is that buyers from across the Island, the Mainland, and as far away as Las Vegas have discovered that great deals can be had in the scenic town of Parksville.

“It adds an interesting element to the business, that’s for sure,” Kuiken says. “It’s really catching on and, why not? It’s a great way to buy a vehicle.”
