This is an authentic fire hydrant with no back story. It’s just one of those things we found while cleaning up but can’t have a non-working fire hydrant at an airport. It is available at the BC Aviation Museum during regular hours, 10 am - 4 pm, 7 days a week. Please contact me to make an appointment to pick up. Front desk staff will not know what you are talking about if you just show up.
