MEET UP MORNINGS NEAR FORT AND COOK Excellent condition, it’s a beautiful shiny brown glaze. Made with the famous Rockingham red clay in England. There is no manufacturer name, embossed on it is “Made in England”. Many years ago a lot of the teapots made in England didn’t necessarily state a manufacturer. I have searched the internet trying to find this one but with no success. I think it is very very old, maybe 50-80 yrs or more, I don’t know! There are some interesting manufacturing flaws you can see and feel. On the outside I can see a little indentation area, quite amazing! You have to look for it, it’s not obvious! I think it must have partially been formed by hand. By the mid century they were using proper molds for manufacturing so there weren’t the flaws of the older teapots. You can see in the opening that the straight edge has a “not so straight” part and the same on the underside of the lid. When you feel inside you can feel small kind of bumpy areas that are in the manufacturing. It has a very unique “2nd handle” as the pot is very heavy when filled and this allows easy pouring using both hands, all the teapots in my search that had a second handle showed a “loop” as a handle that you would put I finger through. This one you slide your finger under it. It is very clean, no stains, no chips, cracks or damage of any sort. I’ve included a stainless steel infuser. These teapots were made long before we had teapot infusers like we have now, so the lid can’t go on while steeping because of the infuser. I’ve included a brand new coaster to cover it while steeping with the cozy on. It’s coated on one side (aboriginal art of Australia) and cork on the other side. Made in England teapots DON’T drip and lay flat upside down to drain! It weighs 2.5 lbs, and almost 7 pounds filled. It holds 2 litres/quarts, 64 oz, about 10 “teacups” Teacups are 6 oz each. It measures about 12” long and 7” wide and 8” high with the lid on. A one of a kind treasure! Selling lots of good items, some free with purchase, click on my photo for listings.
