Driftwood Communications is actively recruiting a full-time Skilled Labourer in the telecom field to work with our Construction Team. Compensation is $22-$28 per hour based on experience. What you will be doing: Assist in the high-quality installation of underground telecommunications infrastructure Place aerial and underground telecom cables Work in varied weather conditions Complete pre-work and ongoing safety hazard assessments/hazard controls; report all incidents Conduct pre-trip equipment inspections; report all issues Complete routine equipment cleaning, maintenance, and repairs Review plans and drawings for installation guidance Complete documentation including safety, production, materials Positively reflect Driftwood in interactions with clients, residents, and businesses Assist in identification of buried underground utilities prior to excavation Physically stand, bend, squat, and lift up to 80 pounds in an outdoor environment Other tasks as required Considered Assets: Experience in the installation of fibre-optic technology (asset) Construction experience is not required but an asset, and ideally, a combination of the following: Small equipment Service boxes Conduit Driver’s License Class 5 (minimum required) Air Brakes (asset, but DW will assist with acquiring certification once hired) Class 3 License (asset) Trailer Endorsement (asset) Safety Certifications Level 1 first aid (asset) Ground Disturbance (asset) Why Join Driftwood?
