Excellent condition, no chips or cracks or crazing. It is very heavy, weighs over 2 pounds. It holds 1 litre of water so filled with water it’s 4.5 lbs. beautiful mottled brown, it’s is very old, these style lids were popular in the 1920’s so perhaps that old. The tea cozy is brand new, purchased at a craft fair for $20, well insulated with a thick fabric lining and lovely cording along the edge. Real Brown Betty teapots from England sit flat upside down for proper draining and they do NOT drip! The opening is wide (3.5”) for very easy cleaning and includes a hard stainless steel infuser as shown. It has a very deep lid, these teapots were made long before these new infusers, so the lid doesn’t fit well with the infuser in the pot. I’ve included a hard cork coaster that is coated on one side to use for covering the infuser while tea is steeping, then remove it with the infuser and put the lid back on.
