Very collectible porcelain figurine of Hunca Munca, a much loved character from the Beatrix Potter stories. Hunca Munca sits, comforting one of her babies, while the other mice are tucked up in the crib beside her. 3 1/2” wide; 2 3/4” high In good condition, no chips or cracks. Beatrix Potter figurines were first made by Beswick in 1948 when they purchased the rights to ten characters. These proved to be highly collectable and, over the years, many new characters were produced with others being retired. In 1969, Beswick became part of the Royal Doulton Group and by 1989, the backstamp of these models was changed from Beswick to Royal Albert. Production of these figurines completely stopped in 2002.
