This is Paul White's award winning Super T-18 known as KONG. This aircraft won championships Reserve Grand Champion at Oskosh in 1978. In Feb 1979, it was featured on the cover of Sport Aviation. Features that set it apart from any other Thorp include a 200HP Lycoming IO-360 with CS prop, working cowl flaps, wet wings, gap seals and flow fences, and swept vertical fin, 3 axis manual trim and much more. Cruises at approx 200 MPH on 9 USG/Hr. The long range tanks provide a range with reserves in excess of 1100 miles. Total fuel capacity is 60 USG. Panel is standard 6 pack plus KY-197, KNS-80, KT-76A, Narco 121 Marker Beacon Paint and interior rated 8/10. Currently the left outer wing is removed to facilitate storage. Prop suffered minor strike ( no engine sudden stop ) during engine run up. Prop was removed, inspected and blades dressed.
