The teaspoon is marked NAAFI, which stands for Navy, Army, Air Force, Institute ( which was the supply department of the British Armed Forces). On the back of the spoon it is marked NAAFI 2962, which is the item number in the stores. These spoons were used by the armed forces during the Second World War 2. The hole at the top of the spoon was for attaching a chain so it didn't get lost or stolen.
