Fiberglass Laminator

Established Fiberglass Manufacturing shop in Sidney BC is looking for strong independent employees that can work on their own or in a group setting to join our busy team. The successful candidate must * Take direction from Supervisors * Be capable of lifting or pushing large objects, * Carry a valid BC Driver's License As a fiberglass laminator, you will be trained for the following skills * Excellent working knowledge of hand tools and stationary power tools * Laminate using Open Mold Laminating, Light Resin Transfer Molding, and many different aspects of Vacuum Infusion * Read drawings and directions to construct laminated parts, * Cut materials from patterns, * Safely mix and work with all mold releases, resins & fillers, * Apply fiberglass reinforcements and resins into a mold, * Apply gelcoat using hand tools, to the interior of a mold, * Spot air bubbles and remove them from laminate, * Apply core materials into the laminate as per technical manual, * Check installed laminates and core for voids, * Prepare parts for bonding, using appropriate materials and techniques, * Finish the laminate surface to shop standards, assessing the product, identify and repair any defects, * Proper demolding and handling of finished parts * Keep the work area, floor, benches and moulds clear and clean, * Working with chemicals in a safe manner, * Effective cleanup of all laminating tools, * Cross training to other jobs. Prior knowledge and skills are an asset but not necessary. Starting wage: $19.00 (dependent on knowledge and skills). Benefits after 6 months Available - Starting immediately Typical Work Schedule - Monday to Friday, 7 am to 3:30 pm, occasional overtime
