Park Attendant WAGE RATE: $16 - $18 per hour EMPLOYMENT: March 15 &ndash May 15 start date until September/October (flexible dates depending on park) HOURS: Full-time (32-40 hours per week) and part-time seasonal positions. WORK LOCATIONS: Goldstream Park (Victoria), French Beach/ China Beach and the Juan de Fuca Trail (Sooke, Jordan River) Must have reliable transportation to job location. JOB OVERVIEW: This position helps to ensure the park is safe, clean, and functional for all visitors. Duties include cleaning of pit toilets, washroom buildings, campsites and outside areas, garbage/recycle collection, landscape cleanup/maintenance, playground safety, etc. (see full job description at www.rlcparks.ca for more details) QUALIFICATIONS: Valid Class 5 Driver's License (Drivers Abstract required) Criminal Record Check (Vulnerable Sector) upon hiring Current First Aid Certification (OFA) &ndash an asset EXPERIENCE: Practical experience in the use and maintenance of grounds keeping tools/equipment/vehicles Facility maintenance and janitorial/landscaping experience an asset Visitor/customer service in a park or campground setting or similar Cash handling experience/abilities Local knowledge of visitor opportunities an asset PERSONAL QUALITIES: Ability to perform active/physical work for up to 8 hours Positive, cooperative and self-motivated as part of work team Quality communication skills and public relation abilities Please submit a Cover Letter with completed Application form (www.rlcparks.ca/employment) for the upcoming summer season.
