We bought our first Tacoma 8 years ago, curious about what the "hype" was all about. Two Tacomas later, we now know! And the cliche about the only reason people selling their Tacoma is to upgrade to a newer Tacoma...... holds true for us, as we are buying a family member's 2012 Prerunner. Hence, we are saying goodbye to an old and trusted friend. This model ticks all the boxes. It's a RWD with the gas-sipping 2.7l (versus the gas guzzling 3.4l), has the Prerunner/SR5 luxury package, including: power windows, locks, mirrors, cruise control, airconditioning, adjustable steering, sliding rear window, full carpeting, alternating current convertor (with two ac plugs), two opening rear doors with pop up seats, deluxe interior, nice wheels etc. Despite being a rugged, dependable truck, the Tacoma rides like a car, is smooth and quiet, and like most Toyotas with manual transmissions, is super-easy to drive. For other vehicles, 322,000k would signify the onset of old age. For the Tacoma, it's just past its "break-in" phase. Clutch, brakes, exhaust, tires are in excellent condition, engine purrs, transmission very tight and responsive. Like any 15 year old truck, though, it's not perfect. A few cosmetic flaws here and there. It's original paint, so you will find the odd scratch and ding if you look hard enough. Interior is not flawless, although it hasn't been used for heavy work. We are the second owners, first owner was an older fellow, and I'm no spring chicken myself, so it has had its maintenance on a regular basis, including a $1500 appt. about three months ago. For quicker communication, please leave a contact phone number rather than email as I don't have mobile email. Let me know if you prefer a text or callback.
