Gnome and Gardens Organic Landcare is seeking to fill landscape maintenance positions for 4-5 days a week, beginning immediately. Come join our dynamic, supportive and plant-positive team! Starting wage is determined by experience - $23 to $25/hr. Available positions are for assistant gardeners in a full-time, permanent role. Flexible schedules offered, with minimal winter layoffs. Great health and dental benefits available after 3 months. Paid educational opportunities available for people wishing to start or carry on their Red Seal trades training in landscape horticulture. We are an ITA-certified sponsor for people working towards their Red Seal in Landscape Horticulture. All levels of Red Seal apprentices are welcome, encouraged and supported. The ideal candidate has: - 2+ years experience in landscaping and/or organic gardening. - A knowledge and passion for horticulture, including plant identification, care and maintenance. - Experience in maintenance tasks such as line trimming, edging, weeding, mulching, pruning, hedge trimming. - A clean class 5 driver's license - A friendly, social, and easy-going personality that can work well with others. - Ability to take direction and adapt to new situations. - Good people skills, and is comfortable dealing with clients in a professional and positive manner. - Most important is a motivation to learn lots, work hard and really 'git 'er done'.
