PEARL DX98 - $120 - '80s vintage dynamic mic used a lot for kick drums, I'm told. I've used it for hand drums and percussion, with nice results. AKG electronics in a solid, Japanese built body. APEX 191 - $50 each - I have 3 of these. Basic pencil style condenser mics that run on phantom power or internal AA battery. Good for drums, overheads, acoustic instruments.
